Seeing that picture reminded me of blue grouse ( now dusky I guess ) when flushed flying up into the nearest conifer. To some this was taken as death wish and they were dispatched by a .22. Of course, that was in the dark ages of the late 60's I doubt that would happen today.
How about 4 calling birds? LOL Merry Christmas and I'll take those over a partridge any day.
