The Crossings I

Here is what it looks like from the bridge of the Explorer in hurricane force winds. I am surprised that I was able to get these photos since I am generally not moving around too much in heavy seas.











The spray was crashing over the bridge which was about 70 ft above the water surface. The guys below usually don't mind the wind but this was a bit much even for them.



I will post a number of photos this weekend of the various groups of seabirds I encountered during my four crossings of the Drake Passage this year as I slowly make my way through the pile of photos to post.
